Our Story
The Cowichan Lake Pickleball club (CLPB) was formed in February 2017. The primary objective of forming a club was to better support our players and facilitate our play both outdoors and indoors. Further, we foresaw a need to promote the game, locally and improve and equip our facilities and lastly to promote health and wellness throughout the lake community.
The construction of outdoor courts in 2017 has resulted in growth within the club and promotion of the club in both the local communities and pickleball community. Our membership today has over 70 members both permanent and seasonal residents and the tourist information center is constantly being asked about places to play.
In March 2018, the Leadership Team of the club decided to affiliate with Pickleball BC and Pickleball Canada. The benefits to the CLPB membership will be significant. As the club, we will be working with provincial and federal organizations that support and guides municipalities in infrastructure development, provide access to more community grants and infrastructure programs.
